It’s the Little Things??

Mantra Monday

How do you want to feel? 💕 In Determined Billionaire, Sinead loves to write music, sing and perform with her band. Her family also runs a bed-and-breakfast. Guests return year after year to have experiences that make them happy. And she asks Jack, the hero, “Isn’t that what life is all about? Having experiences that make us happy?”

Being with my family makes me feel happy. Being on the beach makes me feel peaceful. Peaceful and happy are two of the emotions I’m always striving for. Some days, finding them is easier than others. 😊

Over on Facebook, readers and I had an interesting conversation about what feelings or emotions they want to have in their lives and what things help them feel that way. I’d love to hear yours, as well.

It seems many of us are striving to be happy. One reader describes that she is looking for a sense of contentment, and that word encompasses happiness, peace, and excitement.

So what things help us feel the way we want to feel?

For many of us, it’s being with family. Some of the comments are lovely. “Family is my world, and they ground me when things get crazy.”

Friends, glorious friends was also at the top of the list. One woman recently spent time with a friend she’s had since second grade!

For another, it’s her job. “My job makes me feel energized, and I love going in each day. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive boss and colleagues, and I’m entrusted to make my job what I want it to be.”

And then there are the things that are small joys that give our lives meaning… Time spent reading, relaxing in a bubble bath, sitting in the quiet, enjoying some music. A couple of people mentioned traveling (and that she would do it all the time if she had the funds. Honestly, I would, as well!)

Learning enriches one reader. (I love that.)  Being near a body of water brings one person the feeling of peace she craves.

There was a profound thought from one reader that I wanted to leave you with you: The older I get, the more I realize that I want to do what makes ME happy for a change.

Here’s to you thinking about the things that bring you happiness and spending some time pursuing them. XXOO
